Just had it installed yesterday. Overall very happy with it. Seems these types of devices have all sorts of differing opinions and reviews so it was hard to pick. Many reviewers received the unit for free, so I was skeptical. Installed in a 2015 6 series. I wasn't comfortable taking my dash apart, so I had installed at a private import mechanic it took them 3 hours so almost a 500 dollar install and they mostly work on BMW's so I'd expect a DIY'er to take some real time to install it. Only real negative I've noticed so far is when using the carplay you can't see the volume control, but not too big of a deal. Overall highly recommend, but watch the installation videos on youtube make sure you're comfortable doing it yourself, otherwise you'll pay several times the unit price to have it done professionally. Still giving it 5 stars as it's a good option if you absolutely want carplay or android auto.

Installed this in my 2016 BMW 320i xDrive - F30.Install was pretty straight forward as long as you follow the instructions to the letter. There are some online videos that are very helpful as well. Configuration was a bit of a pain though. The BMW interior trim comes away pretty easily, just be very careful and use a plastic trim tool to avoid marring the trim and surfaces.Getting the phone to connect via Bluetooth and run music, maps and the phone was a bit hit and miss. Configuring the rear view camera also involved a bit of trial and error. I eventually goy everything working as it should. Overall, including configuration, installation took about 6 hours.My BMW had the basic CD player installed, so there was plenty of room underneath it for the module and all the wiring.All in all, everything considered, this seems to be a great solution to add Car Play/Android Auto/Reversing Camera to your BMW.

This device works well with my 2016 BMW i3. It is very easy to install, a little tip: there are so many videos on YouTube of how to install this device, it is a well-made device and works great, 100% recommended.

Installed in 2013 BMW 750Li and now have Android Auto on factory screen, not touch screen but was not looking for that function. Works perfectly with factory system, easy to switch back and forth, rear back-up camera activates automatically. Overall a great product and very happy with the results.

I have the NBT system in my 2014 X5 and was excited to get an upgrade into this decade by adding wireless carplay. This system is plug and play, you just have to put it in line between the existing wiring and your factory head unit. Installation was pretty simple and I just tucked the little box up behind the dash using double sided tape

So, you have a less than stellar BMW interface and related controls but you've seen other people with much nicer infotainment units. Heck, even little econoboxes are running around with superior features these days. You can replace the whole unit with an aftermarket screen, etc. or you can use this device. This device uses your existing screen but adds all those nifty modern infotainment features to your car, while maintaining all of the factory features. It's great for those that prefer an OEM appearance, while gaining some great entertainment features. It's not very hard to install and seamlessly integrates.

Einwandfreier Artikel! Ich habe länger im Internet recherchiert und war geneigt, die um die 50€ teureren Boxen (beworben durch div. Influencer) zu nehmen. Schlussendlich dachte ich mir aber: über Amazon ist es gut abgesichert, sollte es wirklich nicht gescheit funktionieren.Was soll ich sagen? Eine wirklich gute Box, die tadellos funktioniert und meinen F11 Gelegenheitsdaily in das Jahr 2026 katapultiert. Eine wirklich gutes Handling über das originale iDrive, sehr gute Einstellmöglichkeiten (z.B. das BMW Bluetooth zu verwenden, statt BT des Geräts) sowie vielen weiteren Konfigurationen. Das Gerät arbeitet flüssig und ich wüsste nicht, was man noch verbessern kann. Der Support ist über WhatsApp wirklich hilfreich bei Fragen und man kommt hier immer zu einem Ergebnis.Checkt vorher, ob ihr NBT verbaut habt, dann kann nichts mehr schiefgehen. Die Box habe ich aus Platzgründen rechts beim Handschuhfach platziert - alles andere war nicht möglich. Einbau war in einer 3/4 Stunde erledigt.

This is perfect for my husband's 2016 BMW x5! It is true to the add 100%. It perfectly fit like a glove with no issue. My husband owns a car lot so he is familiar with swapping out stuff like this and doing installations and said it was very easy and straightforward if you know what you're doing. He had it done in about 2 hours and ready to go. Everything sounds perfect as it should. All the sounds are very crisp and clear with no distortion. Everything feels very heavy duty and high quality. Doesn't feel cheap. Everything works smoothly and you can easily select whatever you need. Backup camera works perfect and everything is 100% as expected. He could not be happier! Die Box ist Astrein, ich habe diese in meinem BMW F01 verbaut. Es war ein bisschen aufwendig Platz für diese Box zu finden aber Apple Car läuft einwandfrei wenn man dann alles fertig verkabelt und verlegt hat und der Preis ist in Ordnung. Klare Kaufempfehlung meinerseits. 👍🏻

Das Carplay/Android Modul wird neutral verpackt geliefert. Dabei ist alles was man benötigt und auch eine Anleitung, die in Kombination mit dem Installation Video hier, eine Sache ist, die man nicht missen mag. Das ganze dauert schon eine Weile, aber wenn man es geschafft hat, gibt es ein Upgrade was man nicht mehr hergeben mag. Eigentlich auch nur zeitgemäß, was einem die toll Welt der Apps nun alles via Handy von Spotify, Telefonie und Google MapsApps etc. genießen lässt. Das hat zwar auch seinen stolzen Preis mit aktuell knapp 230€, hält aber funktionell was es verspricht und die Leistungsperformance ist einwandfrei, läuft sauber und ohne Störungen.

Installation was tight but fairly straight forward. Works as it should. Factory mic and rear camera work fine after installation. Adds USB which is nice.

My sister's BMW trapped her in BMW's walled garden proprietary NBT system which was fine for when it was made, in the era before Carplay and Android Auto, but really it's just such a relic of ancient stereo tech and so frustrating to be forced into BMW's expensive updates, that I'm thrilled to have found this unit to add the Android/Apple functionality. It's pretty easy to install - as simple as it shows in the video in the listing, and we had it done in maybe an hour, or a bit over since taking the dash apart in a BMW that's older is a gingerly-done thing since I don't want to crack anything, but it was fine and went in OK, and is plug-and-play. Car still controls stuff from steering controls and existing head unit controls and such but now my sister can navigate with Android Auto and have other apps going on it that are non-BMW proprietary and are FREE to her to use, so this is a great value upgrade. She loves it and i can see why.

I eventually had to get help from a professional to ensure everything was working properly.Another issue is the occasional lag, particularly when switching between apps or accessing certain features through Car Play or Android Auto. While it’s not frequent, it does disrupt the flow sometimes, especially when I’m trying to switch apps quickly while driving. This could be an area for improvement.Lastly, the module is quite expensive for what it offers. Despite these drawbacks, it’s still a valuable addition to my friend's BMW, offering modern convenience and safety features that make driving much more enjoyable.
